SEA-EU Film Festival 2026

The University of Cadiz, as coordinator of SEA-EU, invites all its students to submit a short video of between 3 and 15 minutes to the SEA EU Film FEST 2026, which will be held at the Jerez de la Frontera Campus on April 14-16th as part of the International University Short Film Contest “MARAVÍLLAME”.

From among all the submitted videos, an international jury composed of a panel of experts chosen by the SEA-EU universities will select the 10 best short films, from which the winner will be chosen. The first five short films will be screened in the official section of the MARAVÍLLAME Competition.

The winning video will receive a travel voucher (€1,000  máx.) to cover the costs of its creator’s trip to Cádiz so they can personally collect their prize during the competition’s closing gala

Also, during the competition, the creator of the winning video will have the opportunity to present their proposals to EGEDA (International Management Entity for Audiovisual Producers’ Rights) to discuss the possibilities of financing and promoting their short film for its marketing and exhibition in commercial theaters.

ABOUT SEA-EU FILM FEST INTO MARAVILLAME CONTEST

As an annual event within the Art Platform of the Alliance of European Universities of the Seas, the SEA EU Film FESTF serves as a meeting point where students from the nine member universities have the opportunity to convey the values ​​of european cultural diversity through the stories they tell in their short films, especially those connected to the social challenges addressed by the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda.

THEME

The theme is completely open; however, when selecting the winning video, special consideration will be given to the connection between the story told and any of the various values ​​included in any of the lines and objectives of sustainable development of the 2030 Agenda.
